Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 17, 2026 · Last updated: July 17, 2026
TruNorth Systems LLC (“TruNorth”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides debt resolution and settlement support services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you. It applies to our website, our client portal, and the services we provide to you.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us, open an account, or use our services, we may collect your name, postal address, email address, telephone and mobile numbers, and information about the accounts you have asked us to help resolve. Depending on the service, this may include financial information such as account numbers, balances, income and expense details, and payment information.
Information we receive from others
In the course of working your file we may receive information about your accounts from creditors, debt owners, collection agencies, and consumer reporting agencies.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may collect device and usage information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits.
2. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- provide, administer, and support the services you have asked us for;
- communicate with you about your account, including payment reminders and plan updates;
- negotiate with creditors and debt owners on your behalf;
- process payments you authorize;
- verify your identity and protect against fraud and unauthorized access;
- comply with our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations; and
- operate, maintain, and improve our website and services.
3. Text messaging (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and consent to receive text messages, we may send you messages about your account — for example payment reminders, plan updates, and service notifications.
Consent
We send text messages only to people who have given us their consent to receive them. We obtain that consent in one of these ways:
- Through our online opt-in form. You can enroll by checking the text message consent box on our contact and text sign-up form, where the full program disclosure is shown next to the checkbox.
- On a recorded telephone call. During a recorded call with one of our representatives, in which we identify ourselves and describe the messages you will receive. We retain the recording as the record of your consent.
- In a signed written agreement. Where you have signed an agreement with us that includes a separate authorization to receive text messages.
Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from us, and you can withdraw it at any time — see How to stop messages below.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies depending on your account activity.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. These are charged by your mobile carrier, not by us.
How to stop messages
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. We will send a single confirmation and then stop sending you messages, other than any message required to complete a transaction you have already authorized. You may also contact us using the details below to be removed.
Getting help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at contact@trunorthsystems.org or (859) 379-5618.
Delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How we treat your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services to us — such as our messaging provider or customer support platform — is permitted solely so that we can deliver the messages you have asked to receive. Those providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for their own purposes.
4. We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes, and we have not done so.
5. When we share information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. With companies that perform services for us — such as payment processing, text message delivery, document storage, and website hosting — under contracts that limit their use of your information to those services.
- Creditors and debt owners. With the creditors, debt owners, and their representatives as necessary to negotiate and resolve the accounts you have asked us to work on.
- Legal and regulatory. Where required by law, subpoena, court order, or to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
- Protection of rights. Where necessary to investigate suspected fraud, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, safety, or property of TruNorth, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the protections in this policy.
As stated in Section 3, mobile opt-in data is excluded from all sharing except delivery subcontractors.
6. Cookies and website analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand how it is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect how parts of the site function.
7. How we protect information
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Information you submit through our website and portal is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete it or render it de-identified.
9. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of marketing communications at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and some information may need to be retained where the law requires it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law — including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
10. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy on this page. If the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice.
